Often times the best ideas start out somewhere totally unexpected, and even downright awful.

But that's the beauty of it. We celebrate that messy method here at Bad Ideas Studio. We hope our studio inspires you too!
Who we are
As Google colleagues, creative partners, and friends, we’ve teamed up to create Bad Ideas Studio. We’ve been there, feeling stuck in a creative rut, overwhelmed by the pressure to come up with amazing ideas. We realized that “bad” ideas aren’t dead ends—they’re often the stepping stones to breakthrough solutions (or, at the very least, a good laugh).
This approach, rooted in our experience in big-tech, helps us move forward. Driven by our passion for creativity and our belief in the power of unconventional thinking, we've founded Bad Ideas Studio with the mission to help others think differently, overcome blocks, and unlock their full potential.

I’ve always been a perfectionist, trapped in creative blocks. The self-doubt takes over, leaving me feeling unproductive and unmotivated…ugh, sound familiar? But I realized that a little chaos could be a good thing. Teaming up with Jill, our natural cadence of stupidity sparked some magical ideas.
Bad Ideas became my escape, allowing me to explore new possibilities and take a mental walk.
I'm passionate about bringing people together and guiding them through the creative process. I believe that by fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, we can overcome our self-doubts and create truly exceptional work.

As someone who has chronic anxiety and OCD, I used to be terrified of design sprints at Google. Crazy 8’s made me want to lay down on the floor and cry. I felt so much (self inflicted) pressure to have the RIGHT idea, that sometimes I would black out and have none.
Those are the moments Bad Ideas was born in. We developed these exercises because they helped us check our perfection at the door. Before I knew it, I was coming up with some - dare I say - generally okay ideas? At the very least, I felt like I was providing comic relief for my teammates during stressful times.
Bad Ideas helps me build confidence and tell imposter syndrome to fuck off.
The BAD Recipe
We don't just think outside the box, we light it on fire and roast marshmallows over its embers.
Make Space
Open your mind to imperfection, leave space for the mediocre. There are zero stakes. But also…stand up, jump around, dance a little.
Stay Foolish
Tap into your inner child and get silly. The more playful we are, the more we laugh, break down barriers, and spark wild, uninhibited thinking.
Be brave
It’s time to let go of your fears and act on creative impulses. Shout out what comes to mind without judging it. It might feel weird, but whatever! You’re a brave badass.
